The AACP is the key advocacy body representing ALL Australian consultant physicians and paediatricians in economic and related workforce issues.
The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) cannot engage directly in matters relating to the terms and conditions concerning the derivation of consultant physician income. The AACP was established in order to address these matters.
We represent your interests and those of your patients.
We work to improve the fees for Medicare benefit and to ensure that they are applied in ways that will help optimise patient care.
We are highly effective in lobbying on your behalf.
The two new attendance items closely reflect those proposed in our Submission of September 2006.
ALL Australian consultant physicians and paediatricians benefit from our work and achievements.
Disappointingly, fewer than 10% of Australian consultant physicians and paediatricians have supported the AACP by becoming financial members in 2007.
We still have much to achieve - but in order to survive and continue our work we need support from many more of the consultant physicians and paediatricians we represent.
The preparation and travel entailed in making representations and participating in negotiations at the highest levels of Australian Government involves considerable expense. Please note that our Secretariat operates on a shoestring budget, and our hard-working Council members receive no personal remuneration.
Like to see the AACP gain more benefits for you and your patients?
Then help us keep going - become an AACP member now!
